Not too impressed with animations. Players still look a bit robotic. FIFA has made massive improvements in animations this year and it looks like PES is falling further behind in this area. Not in gameplay though.

  2. Euphonic says:

Champions League will be included. Konami bought the rights from 2009 to 2012.

I like the trailer. I love how Konami wants to improve elements that gives you the feel of a real football match… like cameramen and stuff. I just loved 2011, so if this installment will be at least that good, then I’ll be happy! Can’t wait to play it.

  3. Andre Ruiz says:

Looks amazing in the close-ups and the cutscenes. But don’t feel nice in motion. I hope the gameplay will be ok this year.

  4. Ronne says:

Let’s face it Konami strong point is its game play still stronger than its competition although it has decreased somewhat over the years . If it can return to solid shooting, passing and so forth I’m willing to look past its tweaks and less than stellar animations. Last yrs “engineered for freedom” was genius lest continue that same trend with superior game play.

  5. Ronne says:

Thank you Salem, and Taz and Jack Black for your acknowledgments I’m Ronne from New York go Red Bulls ,Chelsea, Arsenal and Wigan
by the way David Beckham can still play.( lol)

  6. Man of The Hour says:

Both games look like they will disappoint me for not improving their faults from last year.

  7. babao says:

great graphics, great players faces, great ball physics, great large pitch… fifa still behind in this points… but the big problem in pes2011 was AI and gameplay… Waiting for the demo…

  8. Taz says:

Normally trailers are better than the game. So this isn’t looking good

  9. A Lee says:

Why do FIFA fans come on PES website act like “Pro Fans” and try to hype up FIFA??? You obviously must know Pro is better but your trying to be a loyal FIFA fanboy!

I had both games this year! & yes im a PES fan but any neutral who played both could obviously see pro, had more excitement, realism and all-round longevity! Master League was miles ahead of FIFA shocking career mode which i only played for a day! BAL was much better than Be A Pro i could go on all day! In all fairness the only things better on FIFA was the amount of teams i.e Championship, League 1 & 2 etc. The Kit licensing, commentary and the animations!

So when were talking about actually playing football and not “trying to look and sound pretty & expensive” Pro wins easily!
Yes FIFA has all the teams etc. But havent u FIFA fans heard about “Quality over quantity”….obviously not!
I will be buyin PES 2012 this year and keepin it as i kno it will be the best football experience on a console! i will wait til one of my friends buy FIFA to play it!

    Rant Over!!!
FIFA fans stay on the EA websites :)

I don’t why many people like pes 6. i knew it is great game but for me the best pes game is pes 2011 in ps3.

pes 6 was simple football game maybe that’s why people like it?

but pes 2011 is something else. If you are really knew how to play you need 15% concentration 20% tactics 15% luck and 40% your gameplay like you have to manage your team as per the result when you can defending or attacking. if you play with good tactic you can stop other team by make good defending system for example my favorite team is AC MILAN when I play against REAL or FCB I try to stop messi or c.ronaldo by man-to-man. anyhow I don’t want to talk in each detail but in general it is the best football game not in animation but in gameplay. you will never feel boring each match has different scenario.

I like player ability cards. I hope they add more cards like defense and goalkeeper technical cards. for example J. Terry, gattoso,

    PES 4 EVER

  11. Hani says:

Will be downloading this, as usual – doesn’t deserve my money with animations as old as 5 years.

  12. Ronne says:

I’ve seen the trailer 100x times now. The graphics are a mixed big for me. Some look good others look like a rehash of older pes games. Konami needs to reach a level of consistency in their graphical work. In the Spain vs. England match the graphics look outdated and jaw droppingly bad. The ibrahimovic graphics looks horrible in face and color. Its like they went back several years with the ibra graphics. They need to be uniform in there animations, make all look like you put in equal work.. The Fifa trailer is an example of nice graphical work something Konami needs to emulate.

  13. YURDAL says:

I FOUND THIS PIC OF VILLA WITH HIS VEINS POPPING OUT LIKE PES 12.http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6965821,00.html

  14. Steve Spiers says:

Excited but a little apprehensive about this video. I will obviously wait until I’ve played the demo and the actual game but the video shows some improvements but MORE issues than it should.
The running animations still look poor, players control still looks not good enough for professional footballers, the grass is carpet and not the attention to detail needed BUT most annoyingly for me, KEEPERS!!!
The video shows a few shots on goal and the keepers are still diving in the most ridiculous ways, Hart at the end just jumps on the floor which is the same annoying dive that keepers on PES have been doing for years.
The keepers need to actually actively look to stop the ball, not just jump roughly the same way. By this I mean if the ball is say 5 yrds in from their left post about a metre off the floor the keeper has to see the ball, judge the flight of the ball, decide how to reach it and then how they can save it, e.g. One handed, catch, punch etc.
In PES the keepers just have say 10 dive animations and then use whichever one is closest to what they need for that shot (if you get me).
Please Konami get the keepers up to scratch otherwise whatever else you add, it’ll be the same as always, some good additions but not doing what should be done, listen to fans and fix the IMPORTANT THINGS FOR A FOOTBALL GAME!!!
    Rant done :D

  15. stephwheeler5 says:

PES is a treat for me to play and remains this way because of the subtle details in player input that represent brilliance on the pitch in a raw way that Fifa seems to over-polish, which leaves me as the user wanting. Fifa wants to go the ultra-realistic route with the much praised Impact Engine, and I while I do feel PES has some catching up to do in terms of animations, it fully immerses you on the pitch and hooks you to play game after game. It offers a brilliant single player mode in the ML, whereas Fifa is uncontested in online play.

The two games have different methods of trying to recapture the beautiful game. As a footy fan, I am happy to say that they are both trying hard to offer us the best possible experience year after year. Where they join, and their ideas are similar is in the attention to provide you in final with a unique football match where you feel truly immersed as the game. This is done with the plethora of data on team styles/player cards/personality/tactics. Those details in design that determine the unique attributes of a match should continue to be a focus for both series.

For me that’s one of the greatest appeals in those games with Custom tactics for Fifa, and most impressively Index Cards with Pro Evo. Where one game stands strong the other falls short, but both have interesting offerings in the tactical department. The main point I’m trying to get across are some frustrating inconsistencies and contradictions in their systems. But I do hope others will appreciate the amount of details at our disposal to make on impact on the field. And so I will reserve judgment until I find out what changes have been made on those fronts. And I pray that some previewers out there are curious to raise the question.

  16. Lewie P-J says:

NETS!!! Finally nets have been tightened. Hated 2011 gameplay and it looks like it will be the same but I am not bothered as long as you can take someone on! I am woried that showed a lot of good defensive technique, I hope they haven’t upgraded defenses any more, last year they were unplayable. This has given me hope, I was going to go to Fifa after last years game.

  17. Taz says:

I don’t blame KONAMI for basing almost all their first trailer on something like a neck vein when all people have being going on about for the past 2 years is the shape of nets.

  18. Ronne says:

In stead of Messi all the time how bout he share the cover with a new and rising star “Chicarito”

  19. kaku says:

graphics are ok!!! but looks like pes 2011 they should be inspired of ea sports

  20. Thommohawk says:

Loving the video, especially the goal celebrations and the one of David Villa with the cameraman trained on him – who needs interactive celebrations when cut scene looks that good. Also Pro Evo gets much better off the ball movement this year – 3 players or more around you making runs for you just before you even trap the ball now that’s what I call options and fluidity!

I just hope the runs are context sensitive to their starting position and the position of the ball carrier when in possession (you) ie the winger will make a darting run in field through to goal ‘Ljungberg/Bowyer style’ if you happen to pick up the ball in their position on the field rather than them still blindly stick to their set position – or even better to set players to specifically look to make that type of run in options tactics especially that’d be great. Can’t do either in PES or Fifa currently.
