Podcast 106 – The Verdict
So here we have it.
After many months of working with the community and Konami, PES 2011 is finally here. It’s been a crazy ride, with the fans experiencing many highs and lows on the way. The good news however, is that PES is well and truly back, and the loyalty we all showed has been rewarded.
After the fantastic written review provided by Alan was released, me and Suff thought it was time we returned to the airwaves and gave you our take on PES 2011. Lots of impressions, comparisons with the competitor and even a score.

Really good podcast. I hate to be negative, but you guys really need to get your audio levels right because at times it’s almost unlistenable. Your levels need to be the same. Sorry for being negative, I really like this site and appreciate all the work you do. The King is back! Long live PES!!!

Nice Poddy lads, Nice and honest the way i like it.
my verdict is that fifa11 shouldnt of got these high nines just because of the bugs and broken online. have to be punished for that.
but Pes2011 has changed for the better and has grown more of a game, than fifa this year!!
so (8.5 for pes2011) and (fifa11 is a 7) would of been 8.5 with out the bugs.
hope every1 enjoys PES2011 when they get it and Fifa11 gets fixed.

Does anyone have any idea why Konami chose to remove the rewind function in training mode a couple of years ago? Or why the game seems to not be able to track the all-time top scorers in ML anymore? And why is there no longer a way to check who scored anymore, aside from having to wait for half-time/full-time to have the option reveal itself?
These are all minor things, yes; but minor things that I loved Pro for. There really seems to be no excuse to remove handy features such as the aforementioned.
Why aren’t the fan sites who interact with Konami representatives not posing these questions? It’s abhorrent to see what was a perfectly-functioning penalty system revamped for no good reason aside from the pathetic excuse that ‘a lot of people didn’t understand the mechanism’. Why exactly did people not understand the mechanism? Because there was no tangible effort to even convey a practice/teaching mode in the game. This is ‘Basic Life Instructions 101′.
The only thing that FIFA has over Pro at the moment is that it lacks the ‘random’ factor that brings thrills and excitement to the game of football, both in real life and virtually. If they manage to nail that, then, that would be it for Pro.
But that’s alright. At least the Gods have favoured me and reimplemented the option to morph the football into a barrel! Rejoice!

I so agree with you! I have never understood why Konami decided to remove all those succesful elements away from the game. It has always been like this. Thank god pes shop is back. Still eagerly waiting for the challenge training to make it’s return!
