First PES2011 PSP Screens And Info

What would appear to be the first screens of the PSP version of PES2011 have surfaced on famitsu.com, with some barely legible game details (thank you Google translate!) present as well.

The PSP version certainly seems to have had some attention in the visuals department judging by the screens. MOre info on this version of the game as we get it.

With all the PES2011 news and discussion dominating this last week, and with more on the way come June compliments of Eurogamer and PSM3 amongst the others, it is easy to forget that Konami also have Winning Eleven 2010 : Blue Samurai due for release on May 20th in Japan. Rest assured that WENB still have ‘Blue Samurai’ on our radar.

With that in mind we thought it worthy to post up that Famitsu have reviewed the game and have scored the PS3 version 34/40, with the PS2 and Wii versions scoring 30/40 and 34/40 respectively. Things looking good, with a solid showing for the game in it’s first review.

Expect more detailed content and comment from WENB once we get our hands on the game shortly!

WE Blue Samurai Gets Troussier Involved

I know most are over Blue Samurai since the announcement of PES 2011, but that doesn’t mean the collectors in the community (i.e. me) will be deterred from importing it. Therefore, we’ll keep you updated about the title in the run-in to launch.

News just hit on Famitsu that the TV ads and general promoting of the game will include previous Japan coach Phillipe Troussier. Not sure how they came up with that one, maybe he’s just a WE fan, but personally would have loved to see Zico back. Remember him all over the WE games from WE7 to WE10? Legend!

A stroke of luck! Just about to call it a night when one last browse of andriasang produced the first details and screens of Winning Eleven 2010 : Aoki Samurai no Chousen(Challenge of the Blue Samurai from here on in I think!) unveiled by Famitsu magazine.

Originally announced just for the PS2, Aoki Samurai no Chousen is now a multiplatform release. It will hit PS3, PSP, PS2, and Wii on May 20.

The focus of this of this new Winning Eleven is on the Japanese national team, as indicated by the “Aoki Samurai no Chousen,” literally “Challenge of the Blue Samurai,” from the title. You’ll lead the Japanese national team against top national teams from throughout the world.

All the modes of play from last year’s Winning Eleven 2010 are in here, but the big selling point is the new “Japan Challenge Mode,” where you attempt to lead the Japanese national team to an appearance in the “International Cup” or its Asian preliminaries (Winning Eleven doesn’t have the World Cup license, so they have to come up with alternative naming).

Famitsu Reveal First PES 2011 Details

As reported by Japanese games site andriasang, the latest issue of Famitsu has an interview with series producer Seabass about the game, and the direction the next game will take. Read the article below:

Winning Eleven has seen yearly installments on the PS3 and Xbox 360. But it looks like we’ve just been getting a preview of things to come for the series.

In an interview in the recent issue of Famitsu, series producer (and originally programmer) Shingo “Seabass” Takatsuka cited the criticisms Winning Eleven has taken over the years, particularly in Europe, and promised for this year a Winning Eleven that’s been powered up many levels.

The updates will come in both graphics and gameplay areas. Winning Eleven games until now, he said, have been just extensions of the Famicom era. Players were fine with this through the PlayStation 2 , but the development staff now need to change their concepts and ideas to something more appropriate for the new generation machines like Xbox 360 and PS3.

He wouldn’t give share specifics about what kind of changes to expect, but he did say that the area of the game that most clearly shows the changes is the relationship between AI and player motions.

The changes will have an effect on how the game controls, said Takatsuka. Until now, they’ve had a “Famicom-like” belief that good controls means fast movement. But it isn’t this simple. Particularly on the new hardware, this type of thinking will lead to players being too fast. Some players in Europe have actually complained that the game’s tempo is too fast. On the other hand, some players do seem to like faster speeds. The staff will be taking balance into account during the tuning process.

Despite all the changes, Takatsuka said to expect the new Winning Eleven between November and December. The game is currently 30% complete.
