Today Konami posted on their facebook page they are trying harder to combat cheating in PES 2012 online competitions, and have successfully banned people already.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE REG CHEATING: We play PES 2012 Online in the office and at home and just like you continue to experience some really bad sportsmanship. Let’s be clear on this: Cheating, intentional disconnecting, scoring own goals, none of this should be tolerated. We have to do and will do more to stop players ruining our experiences.

It’s an issue that runs deeper than PES, but we have already banned some cheaters and we’ll crack down harder. We’re also looking at additional measures so we, the real fans, can have an enjoyable online experience. We’ll report back, but in the meantime play fair and square even in the face of cheaters – for the love of the game!

Konami have just dropped a rather huge bombshell into the WENB inbox as we got ready to settle into our weekend by informing us that passing lobbies for PES2012 online play are on the way! The little heads-up we received from Jon Murphy reads :

“The addition of the pass lobbies comes thanks to the assistance of all at WENB. We’re delighted to be able to react to the needs of our fans, and this is yet another great example of us working with the PES community to benefit the game.”

We have been advised that full details will follow sometime next week regards this much desired inclusion, which has come to us off the back of a feedback initiative that was spearheaded by WENB, yet was only able to gather momentum thanks to our committed and very active community. This of course is but one issue addressed off the back of such a WENB community driven exercise but goes to show that respectful and well organised feedback will be considered and potentially acted upon by the folks at Konami.

WENB would like to thank all for their input over these last few months as without the community our desire to act as the fans voice would not be possible.

Watch it below. From what I can tell it’s using the Wii version gameplay and graphics, with an extra layer of sheen. Maybe this is the PS2 HD version you guys have been asking for after all…

Not too sure if or when we’ll see this outside of Asia so we all can have a dabble, but I presume it’s depending on how well it does over in the East.

So far there is nothing new to report with this latest DLC and would appear to be more of a fix to the previous content released a few short days ago on October 12th. What this means however is that the well documented ‘Ireland kit’ bug has now been fixed, which is sure to please many.

There are also some reports coming in that the Master League Online ‘own goal’ bug has also been addressed which if true is huge progress. More on this as we get it.

The Konami Online Portal is now open and is the official one stop shop for online information across all platforms as well as offering an online connection tool which could prove to be very useful indeed.

It would appear through some initial reports that you can use your edited data – at least kits anyway – in PES2011′s online modes.

Friend of WENB Caniggia from AllsvenskanPES has recently posted this on our boards :

“I can confirm that editing kits and names of teams in your optionfile shows in online matches. It is official.”

There is also a video present on youtube by user azuqeka appearing to show this to be the case on PS3.

Truly wonderful news if indeed true. Rest Assured WENB will be looking into this ASAP, so watch this space.

No confirmation as yet if the other player can see your edited kit data but I am sure some news on that will surely follow in good time.

In an effort to change this, staff member danny275 has decided to try and get the WENB community involved in PES 2010 online tournaments. So here’s the deal:

We’ll have a competition starting on the 31st January. Each round will last 3 days (i.e You have 3 days to play your match). We need either 8 or 16 people. In the event that we get less than 16 but more than 8, the first 8 people in here who have said they’ll enter will be in the competition. Currently the tournament is for PS3 users.

Simple as. We’ll see how it goes, and if the community is indeed open to online tournaments we’ll do more. You never know, if it REALLY takes off we could do something with PESRANKINGS.
