I’m really warming to Axel, producer of the soon to be released iPhone version of PES 2010. Don’t get me wrong, I still think he’s a bit crazy, but he certainly knows his football.
This latest post specifically talks about AI in a football game, and the way it’s been incorporated into his game. Click here for the article.

Crazy Alex has updated the blog, with talk of pizza, camera angles, and of course the soon to be released PES 2010 iPhone /iPod touch version. We also got to see the first gameplay screens too.

Also on a side note, the release of WE Blue Samurai in Japan has proved to be quite successful. The PS3 version charted in no. 3, selling 67,000 copies. While thats a small number in respect to what us Europeans are used to, it’s a decent figure in Japan. Compare that to the 10,000 copies EA sold of the official WC game in the same country, it goes to show how strong the Winning Eleven brand remains in its own back yard.
Better news was that all the versions made the chart, with the PSP (no. 6), PS2 (no. 9) and Wii (no. 15) versions doing well too. Click here for the full chart.

Konami have today announced that PES 2010 will be getting a nice little World Cup related update. Here’s the press release:
Konami Digital Entertainment has announced it will release a new DLC pack for PES 2010 on June 8th.
The free download will be available for PlayStation(R)3, Xbox 360 and PC-DVD, and will update the kits of 18 national sides. The download will offer users the new strips for teams from Japan, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Argentina, Brazil, Ireland, Italy, England, Greece, Croatia, Sweden, Spain, Germany, France, Netherlands, Portugal, Australia and Korea. It will also update the squads for these teams.
Users will be prompted to download the free DLC on loading the game from June 8th onwards.
A lot of new kits then! And great timing too, just before the big event kicks off.

Huge thanks to Rage06 for this update.
WENB and most of the community sites were expecting the last PES 2010 DLC to hit this week. Seeing as nothing came, we were left a little bamboozled. Thankfully the community has been asking the key questions once again.
Rage06 asked Jon Murphy on Twitter about when we’ll get news on the DLC, and the response is in the header.
I do want to ask for caution though, as I believe the update won’t be coming next week. So while we’ll get the heads up about what to expect, I fear there will be a small wait before we can download it.

The official Konami blog has been updated by our good friend Axel, this time discussing the way they’ve tried to utilise the iPhone’s unique controls, to create a very unique experience.

Jon Muprhy also tweeted today saying how he finally got some hands-on time with it, and enjoyed every moment. Not long now until everyone will be able to try the game!
