It’s quiet time. Post release will see the activity on the boards grind to halt, and while I wouldn’t say we’ve got tumbleweed situated on there, it’s certainly taken a dip. Currently users are going through a variety of emotions, with the game showing them just what to love and hate about it.

Myself and Alan get on the podcast to talk about these issues, and try to appease the listeners. We also update on the option file, and talk about the awesome import feature.

So here’s the thing. I’m resident talent spotter here at WENB. I mainly do the hiring while Suff combs his hair. I like to think we’ve got a keen eye for talent. And 8-bit Playground has caught my eye.

A few months ago we did a feature on threenil.com, a classy football apparel site. I’d now like to take some time to let you guys know about an excellent games site based over in the States. 8-bit Playground is an up and coming gaming site, that has released a couple of stellar podcasts on both FIFA and PES.

As you might know, WENB has it’s own podcast series. We feel we do them pretty well, and 50k+ listeners an episode tends to make us think you agree. That’s why I hope you take it seriously when I say the 8BP guys have nailed it in their latest episode. Knowledge on the game, passion for the subject, humor, quality radio voices and a cracking outtro track. Must listen.

Those familiar with PSM3 will be aware that the publications editor, Dan Dawkins is a massive football fan and makes no secret of his love for the PES franchise, football games in general in fact and also is a friend of WENB. Like all of us he has shared the highs and lows the series has offered up in it’s history and approaches each new game with that cautious optimism which is something of a requirement when it comes to the franchise, so when he speaks about the game in the magazine or in the fantastic PSM3 podcast, you know you are getting a well informed opinion born of that same passion the rest of us have.

In their latest, podcast PES2012 is discussed by Dan at some length and it sounds very much like the game has won him over. take a listen for yourself by taking yourself to this here LINK. Quite a day. We’ve been given some screens, told a favourite mode is returning, and that Messi won’t be the face of PES anymore. And if that wasn’t enough to take in all at once, Konami today released two videos showing the new off the ball feature implemented into PES 2012.

It’s a move that has left some pleased, with others concerned. Will it be an exploit? Will it be required? Is it even necessary? We discuss in detail our experiences with the feature, that hopefully answers many questions. Make sure you listen in and get our verdict on this potential gamechanger.

So PES 2012 is here. Konami have kicked things off in the biggest way ever, giving us a video that nearly clocks in at 8mins, and a clear focus on gameplay.

Saying that, many things (NOTE: good things) may have been missed, so me and Alan get on the airwaves and dissect everything there is to be discussed right now regarding PES 2012.

So, is it “Houston we have a problem”, or ‘One small step for man…”? Listen in to find out what we think!

Season 5 continues with the return of Suff, and a podcast dedicated to the recent events in Japan. We take a look at how Japan is getting on, and how Konami are attempting to battle through such a sad and devastating time in their country’s history.

Another year, another WENB podcast series. After a few months out we’re ready to talk PES once again. With Suff sitting this week out, we have Alan back on the podcast to help us get up and running once again. Despite the lack of news right now, we find ourselves talking for well over an hour, going through our football gaming habits recently, as well touching on some recent developments.

There’s some PES 3D natter, a bit of love/hate on PES 2011, and of course we mention PES 2012 and that elusive feedback document.

After the PES 2011 demo hit, I have to say I certainly do. The lucky PS+ users have been playing the heck out of the demo, and giving us consistent feedback and lots of nice videos. 95%+ of impressions have been extremely positive, with “PES Is Back” possibly more of a common statement than “Footballer Cheats On Wife”…

We get Alan back on the podcast to talk about the impact of the demo, cover the news, and mention the small matter of a site re-design. All in all an action packed podcast set for the weekend.
