Those familiar with PSM3 will be aware that the publications editor, Dan Dawkins is a massive football fan and makes no secret of his love for the PES franchise, football games in general in fact and also is a friend of WENB. Like all of us he has shared the highs and lows the series has offered up in it’s history and approaches each new game with that cautious optimism which is something of a requirement when it comes to the franchise, so when he speaks about the game in the magazine or in the fantastic PSM3 podcast, you know you are getting a well informed opinion born of that same passion the rest of us have.

In their latest, podcast PES2012 is discussed by Dan at some length and it sounds very much like the game has won him over. take a listen for yourself by taking yourself to this here LINK. Be sure to listen to it in it’s entirety as, for me anyway, it is the best gaming discussion podcast out there. Also be sure to check out the latest edition of the magazine that is on sale now.

With PES2011 hitting stores worldwide PSM3 have already started talking PES2012, with Decembers issue (in stores now!) containing a wee heads up as to what will potentially feature in next years game.

Hidden at the very end of the magazines The Insider section the following is written :

Finally, PES2012 plans are afoot , with whispers of a more seamless, less cut-scene heavy, experience, plus new uses for the effectively redundant d-pad. Run prompts? Yes, please.

Is this a nod to continuous play and yet more tactical/control options in the pipeline? Time will tell.

Personally, run prompts would not be would top of my list regards use of the d-pad but it is heartening to hear that the team might well be envisioning a better use it in future editions. It also could suggest further enhancements to dribbling control as a whole.

In the next issue, released Friday July 2nd, the guys from PSM3 have produced a mega E3 dedicated issue. Amongst the impressive cover title MGS Rising and a magnitude of other quality titles AND free analogue grips, there’s also some PES 2011 action going on.

You’ll find a quick update on Dan’s impressions from the show, and his take on how things have improved from playing first build back in May.

Beyond this, PSM3 are now taking questions from the community about their experiences with PES 2011 at the show, exclusively va their twitter page: www.twitter.com/PSM3_Magazine. If you have any questions, fire them off before the weekend, and Dan will post up the answers on their site at the start of the week.

Huge thanks to Dan and PSM3 for supporting the PES community once again!

Huge thanks to editor Dan for providing is with all this information!

So, as most know, PSM3 magazine has the print exclusive for PES 2011. With it comes loads of information on PES, and lots of other awesome gaming goodness!

First, regarding PES 2011, Dan told me:

PES 2011 is four pages, 1000+ words, all the new screens, plus a few snaps from the studio tour, plus insight into our trip/tour (sound recording, drinking in tiny pub with PES team etc). It’s not all new (after yesterday’s info splurge), but a more rounded insight into what I thought of the game.

Awesome!

It’s worth adding, there’s loads more besides PES, for those who are wanting more of a reason to purchase the magazine:

- Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood – exclusive hands-on + first screens + Q&A
- Feature: We predict the World Cup using FIFA and PES to see which game is most accurate (with some mad, fun results that sort-of make sense. Though Greece do unusually well in one of the games). Which game is most realistic? We’ll find out when the cup kicks off… and the feature doubles up a fixture chart
- MGS: Peace Walker: Review
- COD: Black Ops – previewed
- Plus: Free dual-side DVD with HD movies, plus ‘Top 50 PS3 Games of 2010’ book

That enough for you?

The magazine is £4.99, and will be released June 3rd (tomorrow). You can purchase the mag online, and even subscribe by clicking here. There’s an awesome offer going for people who do subscribe (blu-rays, boxsets, exclusive covers etc).

So make sure you pick one up tomorrow!
