Jon Murphy has posted on the Konami Blog today, talking about the recent DLC fix and his recent trip to Tokyo taking in PES2011!

More after the jump.

”I wanted to update you about a few things. Firstly, we’ve got another free update available. It’s had a feel teething problems, but those have now been sorted.

From the main menu in game, go to System Settings and then Download to update team rosters and add a new boot…we’re looking to simplify that process in PES2011 by the way. You’ll also be pleased to hear we’ve got a number of other updates planned which will keep PES fresh right up until the next version.

I’ve also been back to Japan to see the team. They started work on PES2011 months ago and as promised the basis for changes has been feedback from fans. The big news from me is that I’ve already played a really, really early version of the code and it blew me away! Obviously I’m sworn to secrecy, but what I’ve seen is the biggest shake up of PES ever! I’m not kidding. It’s awesome, but I can’t say more.

Finally, it’s great to welcome the Champions League back into my life – although my other half isn’t such a fan of wall to wall footie! If like me you can’t get enough of the competition check out the PES2010 online Champions League events every Wednesday and Saturday nights (22:00-00:30 GMT).

Cheers,

Jon.”

http://www.games.konami-europe.com/blog.do

Interesting stuff indeed. Could Konami be ready to amaze us?

Hit the jump for the full press release!

PES 2010: New DLC Confirmed which updates team rosters, UEFA Champions League elements and kits

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has released details of the first free DLC content for the PLAYSTATION®3, Xbox 360 and PC-DVD versions of PES 2010.

A primer update is available to download now, and will ready the relevant hardware for the full DLC update which will be released on November 24th. The initial download will ensure that any PES 2010 Edit data the user has stored on their hardware will not be affected by future Konami DLC, while the November 24th data enhances a number of elements in the full game and also revises the club team rosters in line with those of all current transfers, all major transfers made after the game was completed will be rectified.

Furthermore, four new teams will also be added to PES 2010’s UEFA Champions League mode, with Atletico Madrid, Olympiacos, Lyon and Fiorentina all added to the competition in their official Champions League kits. Similarly, the DLC will also update the home kit of the Japanese national team, which was recently changed.

Konami is committed to releasing further updates for PES 2010 via DLC in the coming year, and is continuing to work with the PES community to see ways that the game can be improved via future content.

As PESFan reported earlier today, a new patch has been released today from Konami for PC, PS3 and XBOX 360.

The patch, weighing in at 27MB, seems to be an update for an update, paving the way for future content to be released WITHOUT messing with our edited data. For more details click here.

There’s been many cynical posts about this, but in my opinion is awesome news. The fact that the edited data that the fans have created, and the many hours spent on option files won’t be reset is in fact EPIC news. So rather than ridicule Konami for not releasing something more substantial, I applaud them for launching this update to make sure user content is untouched. In the future we’ll appreciate this feature a great deal, and I hope in times where no matter what Seabass & Co. do seems to be enough, people will start to give them credit when its due.

Thanks to both Lami and Caniggia for the heads up!

We still have no word on when the European update will hit, but forum member and good friend Roigafni has given us some more details on what the WE 2010 update included when it hit yesterday:

* The New Japan National Team kit (HOME) which debuted on 09/11/2009 (header pic)
* Updated Squad data (Please note that they may not be 100% accurate).
* Additional Teams in the UEFA Champions League Mode.
- OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS
- AC FIORENTINA
- OLYMPIACOS
- C. ATLETICO MADRID
* Changes to the appearances of certain players.

Also, there’s some more information on how the roster update will effect option files:

Please be noticed that some saved data/ customized edit data will be reset back to default value after the download content installation.
・Player Data = Remain no change
・Team Data = Remain no change
・Player Registration Data = Change back to default value
・Formation Data = Change back to default value

The registration data going back to default could cause a huge problem with certain option files that have created new teams (think Bundesliga), so we wait with some concern to see how it will effect everyones OF once released.

More news when we have it.

A massive thanks to Diampa from the boards for this huge news!

The header shows the latest notification posted on the Japanese Winning Eleven 2010 site, stating that a new update is hitting for the game on Monday 9th November. This leads us to think that the same update planned for the European versions will be hitting Thursday 12th November.

Being the weekend Konami aren’t available for comment, but we should know soon enough if this is true. The positive news is that the update will include much more than the expected roster update.

More on this Monday.

As most of you know who have the game, the first patch was released for PES 2010 today. Named 1.01, the update added 3 modes to the online side of things – Legends, Community and Competition.

With most of us picking up the game on official launch tomorrow, we’re all intrigued about when the transfer update will hit. While no one is 100% sure its coming (there’s been no official announcement), we’re all expecting one – especially with the squads being so out of date.

Fingers crossed tomorrow, as we don’t want to have to delay our OF due to squad inaccuracies and any conflict it might have with our team correcting!
