Finally, some clarification.

Not ideal in its delay, but at least we have some news on when the stutter bug will be fixed on Xbox 360. November will see this issue fixed, confirmed by a tweet.

Question is, will we see other updates? Jon is in Japan right now, we might get some nuggets of info throughout the week.

Stay tuned!

News just in that PES 2011 will be going into the platinum and classics ranges, for PS3 and Xbox 360 respectively, on April 1st. Full details in the press release below:

PES 2011: Football Evolved, Price Reduced
Total revamp, total freedom, total football, total value

Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced that its popular PES 2011 title for PlayStatIon®3, Xbox 360 and PC-DVD will be released at a new, lower price from April 1st.

Originally released on October 8th, the game will now be repackaged as part of Sony’s Platinum range with a new £29.99, the Xbox Classics label for the same price, and as a £19.99 Euro Classics title for PC.

PES 2011 saw the series undergo a huge move towards total control, and featured the most advanced raft of gameplay additions, control options, and animations in PES history – catering for both ardent PES players and newcomers alike. Central to its total freedom of play, PES 2011 introduces a power bar for each player that allows the user to determine the exact strength and placement of every pass and shot. Balls can be spread absolutely anywhere with utter precision, with long balls into space, short passes to feet and intricate one-twos allowing the player to dictate play and control the tempo of a match.

The game’s freedom of play is also extended via new AI routines designed to place every move and decision in the user’s hands. AI no longer intervenes and PES 2011 players now need to sense and react to threats; while passes will not automatically reach the nearest player. Instead, all-new routines facilitate complete control both of the player and their chosen actions in every respect to give the player sublime control over every movement. As such, the specially-designed control system allows total control over every element of play. The triangulation of passes and making space using clever runs becomes paramount, and build-up play is everything. Likewise, dribbling and close control are tougher to master, and the days of making streaking runs through the centre of the park are over, as PES mirrors the real-life football.

PES 2011 also marks the introduction of Master League Online, wherein the hugely popular mode where players build and develop a championship-winning team has been taken online, and where players bid against each other for the world’s best players. Similarly, PES 2011 is the only game to feature the officially-licensed UEFA Champions League™, UEFA Europa Cup™ and UEFA Super Cup™ competitions, and also introduces the Copa Libertadores, South America’s most influential and important club-based competition.

“PES 2011 represents a huge step forward for the series and its new lower price will be a welcome chance for football fans to sample the sheer skill and artistry the game offers,” commented Jon Murphy, European PES Team leader. “PES 2011 offers a stunning level of control and demands precision and timing from the player. The game’s introduction of a real-time player market mechanism on Master League Online offers users a new level of depth and realism to their experience. Once people delve into this area, PES 2011 will offer a level of depth they have never experienced before.”

With subscribers to PSN’s PS+ service having had the demo for a solid week now and the PC contingent being taken care of last night, the PES2011 demo finally arrives on Xbox Live for 360 users and very shortly will be followed by it’s arrival on PSN for PS3 owners.

Worth mentioning also that the Winning Eleven 2011 demo is up on the Japanese PSN as well and offers up a couple of different teams in the form of Spain and Japan. Worth checking out for the completest among us to see if there are any little differences.

So, with all next-gen formats now having the demo available it is time to get playing!

Remember to use the demo impressions thread on the forums to discuss your experiences of the game.

A week or so ago we were hearing reports that the new XBOX 360 update had no effect on save file transfers, and any hope of 360 owners enjoying a similar editing scene to the PS3 were gone. Then suddenly, a few editors over on PESGaming managed to find a way!

Massive thanks to forum member Casperld for creating the thread on our boards, and giving all the fans on here the great news!

You’ll get a step by step guide by him on how to import a file, and also links to various different option files to download, by clicking here. The best bit? It seem’s unlike the PS3 versions, any OF for the 360 will work on any region game!

Huge news guys, and opens many doors for the editing community in the future!

In recent days is been reported pretty much everywhere that Microsoft are releasing a new update on April 6th, that allows users the ability to use a USB stick as a storage device. Along with this, it also gives you the ability to transfer things like demos and game saves.

This is a potentially huge feature with regards to the PES community, as it could mean it opens the door to option files being shared freely within the community. It would be much bigger than most people think, especially on these shores. The UK is the only European country where Microsoft enjoys comfortable dominance over Sony’s platform. Therefore, if the option files can be shared, the potential of more of the community interacting over here could lead to higher sales on the XBOX 360. And with the PS3 version of PES 2010 outselling the 360 version worldwide by some margin, it’s also an opportunity for Konami to grow the market further.

The more well informed members will know though, that the new update merely gives the owner an alternative when wanting to use a storage device, and everything like game saves will be forever linked to your profile.

Only a few weeks to find out for sure.

Alan has been working as a moderator on the boards (Dodo75), but recently wrote both the PSP and Wii reviews of PES 2010. With him becoming a prominent member of the team we thought it would be best to let you guys get to know him, well in advance of news build up to next years version. But it’s not just 50mins on Alan, as we talk about PES news, including the recently released patch that has many of the community wondering if it did or didn’t effect the actual gameplay.

So sit back and relax with a warm cuppa as WENB sign off yet another eventful year with the poddy.

So sit back and relax with a warm cuppa as WENB sign off yet another eventful year with the poddy.
